The entrance to Verhau* Vol. 1-3 is marked by an exhibition performance with picture, text and sound: in the beginning the audience sits or stands in an ‘empty’ exhibition space; works are taken from >Verhau*< and are positioned in the exhibition room; some artists are on-site and perform their works; the curators take over the staging and moderation; the public reacts on what transpires. “It is a corporal co-presence of protagonists and audience who in the first place facilitate a performance, ... In order for a show to take place, the protagonists and the public gather at a certain place and do something together for a certain timespan.” (Erika Fischer-Lichte)
