Erdling Projekt
Wir alle wissen, dass die künstlerische Arbeit eine Art Reise in das Herzland des Selbst ist und dass dieses Selbst transversal ist: es endet nicht an den Grenzen des
Körpers, sondern dehnt sich darüber hinaus in den interaktiven Raum aus. Die Dingwelt für die Hände, die sichtbare Umgebung für die Augen, Sprache und
Kultur für das Gehirn.

Dieses Selbst entsteht durch einen Prozess, bei dem es tausende und abertausende von Fasern in die reale, imaginäre und virtuelle Welt aussendet, die ihrerseits eigentlich eher so etwas wie ein Interface oder eine Membrane aus stabilen und dynamischen Mustern ist. Die physischen und psychischen Ausstülpungen greifen hinaus und verbinden sich mit der unendlichen Menge von miteinander verbundenen Informationssystemen, die sie rufen, erfassen und umarmen. Der Körper ist ein Aspekt dieser Interaktivität, das Gehirn ist ein anderer, und es ist bekannt, dass der Körper, das Gehirn und dieses reale/imaginäre/virtuelle Interface eine zusammengehörige Einheit bilden. Sie sind die jüngste Manifestation ko-evolutionärer Kräfte, von denen diese drei Ströme der Ontogenese geschaffen worden sind, um sich zu vermengen und miteinander zu tanzen und am Ende ihre Gemeinsamkeiten zu erkennen. Die Kultur spielt eine signifikante Rolle in der Vermittlung zwischen den drei Systemen und ihre Evolution ist in das ko-extensive System eingeschrieben und hat deshalb Einfluss auf Gehirn, Geist und Selbst. Wie sich die Kultur von einer lokalen zu einer globalen entwickelt hat, entsteht derzeit eine globale Subjektivität. Earthling (=Erdling) untersucht dieses Werden.

Earthling Project
We all know that making art is a kind of journey into the heartland of the self and that this self is transversal, it does not end with the body, but extends into the interactive space beyond itself. The world of things for the hands, the visual landscape for the eyes, and language and culture for the brain.

It co-evolves through a process by which it sends out thousands and thousands of fimbria into the real, imaginary and virtual world, which is more like an interface or membrane constructed of stable and dynamic patterns. These physical and psychic extensions reach out and inter-digitate themselves into the infinite array of interconnected information systems that call out to them and reach them and embrace them. The body is one site of that interactivity, but the brain is too, and it is well known that the body, the brain and this real/imaginary/virtual interface are a co-extensive 'one.'They are the most re-cent manifestation of co-evolutionary forces in which these three streams of ontogeny are made to mingle and dance with each other, in the end finding points of commonality. Culture plays a significant role in the mediation of these three systems. Its evolution is mapped into this co-extensive system and as a result has an impact on brain, mind and the self. As culture has moved from local to global, the production of a global subjectivity is in the process of becoming. Earthling investigates this becoming.
